Provide treatment to treat “Efflorescence”.

Product needed: SCL STONECLEAN (pH7.0)

Read more on “What is Efflorescence” from our Frequently Asked Question.

Dilution ratio to treat “Efflorescence”:

  • Mix 8 capfuls of  SCL-STONECLEAN to ½ bucket of water (approx. 4 litres of water).
  • Just mop and leave it to dry naturally.
  • Change the mop solution every 500 square feet.
    • Rinsing with water is not required.

To speed up removing the Efflorescence, ventilate the house as much as possible, mop the stone floor with SCL Stoneclean 3 times a day instead of once a day continuously for 10 days or longer. Reduce the mopping to once a day when efflorescence’s condition has improved after the 10 days. Continue to clean and maintain the stone floor with SCL Stoneclean even after efflorescence is completely treated.

Caution: Avoid re-polishing the marble floor when you encounter “efflorescence” within 3 months after polishing. Re-polishing will worsen the efflorescence’s condition. You need to be patience when treating efflorescence on marble floor. Just mop with SCL Stoneclean as mentioned above.

Only severe efflorescence required a re-polishing.

How would I know I need another re-polishing?

You need a re-polishing when efflorescence has occurred more than 6 months.

Put concentrated SCL Stoneclean solution onto the marble floor; the efflorescence area. Rub the solution

with the RED pad, exert some strength when rubbing. Dry the surface and see. If the moldy appearance

remains, you need a re-polishing.
